Ashley ist durch ihre erdige, kratzige Rockstimme bekannt. Nach zwei Grammys in der Kategorie Gospel-Rock ist nun ein Hymnenalbum am Musikhorizont. Dies ist ihr sechstes Album in 15 Jahren. Sie hat die Hymnen überarbeitet indem sie die Melodien beliess und die Texte modernisierte. Für Ashley ist dies ein sehr persönliches Album und sie meint, dass die Hymnen auch in der Zeit, wo sie Drogen und Alkohol konsumierte, kleine Lebenszeichen von Jesus waren. Diese Stücke erinnern sie daran, dass sie vom Tod ins Leben zurück kam. (MW)
